Jeff Owens Jeff Owens doesn't just recite principles or theories, he speaks from the personal experiences of nearly 30 years as a police officer.  He worked his way up from "street cop" to the rank of Major on the Command Staff of the Honolulu Police Department, witnessing nearly every aspect of human tragedy and triumph along the way.  Jeff was a primary Hostage & Crises Negotiator for 5 years, became the HPD's expert on issues of violence, and was frequently called on to assist business, government, and law enforcement agencies.

Jeff has built successful businesses and overcome personal adversity; events that help him to make real the principles he speaks on.  Jeff's unique combination of experience gives him a keen understanding of human nature, an appreciation for what it takes to succeed in business and in life, and the skills to turn adversity into advantage.

As the founder of Transcend Inc, a professional training and consulting company, Jeff specializes in prevention and mitigation of management and organizational high-risk issues including: Workplace Violence, Drugs in the Workplace, Sexual Harassment, Security & Crises Management; as well as Leadership, Goal-Setting, and Supervisory Skills.

Testimonials

You are quite skilled in public speaking, and our employees thoroughly enjoyed the event. Information regarding personal protection has a far greater impact on an audience when it comes from an individual who is well respected for his or her expertise and personal experience.

- Lisa King, Director of Human Resources, Y. Hata & Co.

Several Managers that I spoke with after the presentation remarked that they had no idea that the keys to preventing workplace violence are: Knowledge, Respect and Communication. Yet, they all agreed, "It just makes so much sense." Now that we are more knowledgeable about Workplace Violence, it is our hope that if and when we are placed in a difficult situation, we will be better equipped to deal with such a crisis.

- Wendy Fitzgerald, Human Resources Representative, Hawaiian Waikiki Beach Hotel

Your presentation style and sense of humor made for a very effective briefing. Although we only had an hour with you, you left the staff with a lot to think about and to consider.

- Andrew K. Poepoe District Director, U.S. Small Business Administration
